Privacy policy

Short version: SWAMI collects nothing. No servers, no analytics, no ads and no account. It talks only to devices you pair: over Bluetooth, and over your local network to an optional SWAMI Companion.
Data we collect
Section titled “Data we collect”None. SWAMI does not collect, store on a server, sell or share any personal data. There is no SWAMI server and no cloud service.
Data on your watch
Section titled “Data on your watch”Your settings, layouts, macros and the list of paired devices are stored only on your watch (and on your phone if you use the companion app). Uninstalling the app deletes them.
Bluetooth
Section titled “Bluetooth”Bluetooth is used only to connect to the devices you choose to pair, and to send them keyboard, mouse and remote control input. SWAMI does not scan for or track other devices.
Local network and SWAMI Companion
Section titled “Local network and SWAMI Companion”The watch app requests the internet (network) permission only to connect over your local network to a SWAMI Companion that you pair on your computer. The connection goes directly between the watch and the computer, is end-to-end encrypted (Noise protocol) and uses no server or cloud. No data is collected. Dictated text sent to the companion is typed into the focused app on the computer and is not stored by SWAMI; the companion keeps only the last few dictations in memory, for display, and forgets them when it closes.
Pairing a computer
Section titled “Pairing a computer”The phone app scans the pairing QR code with the Google Play services code scanner, which runs inside Google Play services, so SWAMI does not get the camera permission. The pairing link on swami-app.github.io keeps the code after the # in the address, which browsers never send to the server. Pairing keys are stored only on each device: on the watch protected by the Android Keystore, on Windows protected with Windows DPAPI.
Sensors and microphone
Section titled “Sensors and microphone”Motion sensors are read on the watch to move the pointer and recognise gestures. Voice input uses the speech recognition of your watch; the resulting text is typed on your device. SWAMI does not record or keep audio.
Permissions
Section titled “Permissions”Nearby devices (Bluetooth connect and advertise) to pair and connect; internet (network) only for the local connection to a paired SWAMI Companion; notifications and a foreground service to keep the connection alive; vibration for haptic feedback.
Children
Section titled “Children”SWAMI is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
Changes
Section titled “Changes”If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
